According to that old proverb, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. What they didn’t say was that scorned women multiply that fury by about 5,000 when they strap on rollerskates. Hell looks like a daycare centre for kittens in comparison.
We dared to get close enough to London’s premier roller derby heroes – London Brawling – to snare two tickets to their forthcoming clash at Earls Court – the fearsome sounding ‘Anarchy: Euro Crash‘ on April 28th.
Now, We’ve put those tickets in a bag with some sweet Roadrunner Records and London Roller Girls goodies so one of you lucky folks can win it all!
You can get all kinds of info about the clash at the official London Roller Girls website here… But make sure you fill out your details to enter this contest first! Click here to enter the competition.
The latest issue of Prog magazine went on sale this week and it has a killer cover! STORM CORROSION, the much-awaited project featuring PORCUPINE TREE’s Steven Wilson and OPETH‘s Mikael Akefeldt grace the cover as the two protagonists give the mag the amazing inside story of how their new album came together, where they drew their inspiration from and just how well do they really know each other. Rolling Stone magazine placed guitar-wielding SLASH at number 65 on their list of ‘The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’ in 2011, with his opening riff on Sweet Child O’ Mine and powerful solo in November Rain being among rock’s most memorable moments. Born Saul Hudson in Hampstead, London in 1965, SLASH grew up in Stoke-on-Trent before moving to Los Angeles. He stopped by Ronnie Wood’s studio not so long ago to reflect on his love of music, which has led him to worldwide acclaim with his bands Guns N’ Roses, Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver.
Listening to his favourite songs, Ronnie and SLASH share their passion for rock ’n’ roll as SLASH compiles a soundtrack which affirms both his enduring enthusiasm for music after more than 30 years in the business and, moreover, his love of the guitar.
