Widely acknowledged as one of the hard rock & metal genre's most technically gifted, all-round musicians (Joey is one of very few artists with both a signature drum kit AND a signature guitar model), Joey plays not only drums, but also bass and rhythm guitars on the SCAR THE MARTYR record. He enlisted guitarist friends, Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour) to play leads, and the project also features vocalist Henry Derek and keyboard scientist Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails). "I wrote the core of the music myself, but Henry did all the vocals and wrote all the lyrics, and Chris Vrenna from NIN did all the keys," Joey states.

Joey is really looking forward to bringing his new band to these shores, commenting; "We are extremely excited to be a part of the upcoming Alice In Chains tour! This will be our first opportunity to bring our brand of musical psychosis live to the UK. With Ghost on the bill as well, it's quite a package to behold. The only thing to make this more lethal is the attendance of the UK fans themselves. The UK fans always deliver, and we intend to do the same. See you soon!"
