Capital Announce Pop Awards

The nominations have been announced for Capital FM’s annual pop awards, which are held in aid of their Help A London Child charity at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on 16 April. It’s a predictable line up of pop’s finest with the likes of Will Young, Blue, Atomic Kitten, SugaBabes, Robbie Williams and Coldplay all up for awards. On announcing the nominee’s Capital’s Neil Fox told reporters: “The Capital Awards are so unique because they’re not about ego – you have big stars and new stars all happily sitting together and raising a glass, and cash, for London’s needy kids.” Here’s the nominations for the main awards: Favourite UK Male Vocalist: Craig David, Daniel Bedingfield, Robbie Williams, Will Young, Gareth Gates Favourite UK Female Vocalist: Sophie Ellis Bextor, Beverley Knight, Ms Dynamite, Sarah Whatmore Favourite UK Group: Blue, Atomic Kitten, Sugababes, Liberty X Favourite UK Band: Coldplay, Oasis, Stereophonics, Travis Capital Album Chart Award: Robbie Williams – Escapology, Coldplay – Rush Of Blood, Blue – One Love, Atomic Kitten – Feels So Good Favourite UK Single: Will Young – Anything Is Possible, Darius – Colourblind, Liberty X – Just A Little Bit, Atomic Kitten – The Tide Is High Favourite UK Newcomer: Blazin Squad, Will Young, Liberty X, Big Brovaz, Busted Favourite International Solo Artist: Eminem, Nelly, Ronan Keating, Pink Favourite International Group: Westlife, U2, Nickelback, Red Hot Chili Peppers Favourite International Single: Avril Lavigne – Complicated, Nelly/Kelly – Dilemma, Westlife – World Of Our Own, Ronan Keating – If Tomorrow Never Comes To cast your vote, click HERE.
